The weekly numbers of Jobless claims fell by 27,000 to 451,000 which is good news;sort of. The numbers were for the week that ended on September 4th,2010.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the data on Thursday, however 8 states and the District of Columbia were unable to provide the numbers due to the Labor Day Holiday. The Labor Department estimated the job claim numbers for five states and Washington,DC, while two other Virginia and California gave their own estimates.
The numbers show the economy growth remains weak. The job market remains strained.
The other states that didn’t file their claims includes: DC, Illinois, Idaho, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Michigan.
