Financial Crises Hit East St. Louis and Philadelphia

Philadelphia and E. St Louis, IL making drastic changes  due to budget shortfalls. In Philadelphia, The city council  and Mayor Michael Nutter began to close fire stations  throughout the city in a series of rolling brown outs to save money.

KYW-TV/HDTV “CBS 3 Eyewitness News” goes in detail on the closing of  fire stations  in the city. By rotating 3 stations per shift/ day. Mayor Nutter says it would not affect safety.

From St Louis Post-Dispatch: In the Midwest  East St. Louis has laid off 1/3 of safety officers. Police and Firefighter were let go. To keep essential service with out going broke. Residents fear a crime wave break out in the town across the Mississippi River from St. Louis,Mo.
