Vice President Joe Biden says “the heavy lifting is over.” He is talking about the Obama Administration accomplishments which includes the recent Financial Regulation law signed by President Obama on Wednesday.
The vice president talked to Democrats at a fundraiser in Raleigh, NC.
“Now that the heavy lifting is over, we can go out and make our case,” Biden said at a fundraiser in North Carolina, according to a pool report.
The administration expected to make the case that they pass major legislation Financial Reform, Health Care Reform and the $787 Billion stimulus package.
A few priorities did not pass including campaign finance reform and cap-and-trade energy reform.
Biden said the Administration brought nation back from the brink compared to the Bush Administration.
“We stabilized the financial system,” Biden said. We were on the brink of a depression … We avoided a total economic meltdown,” he said. “There are 3 million [more] Americans working today than there were before we took office.
“Barack and I are realists,” the vice president added. “Government is not the answer. But we also know we can plant seeds. These seeds that have been planted have generated whole new industries.”
