On Tuesday, The NAACP passed a resolution calling on the Tea Party groups to condemn racial elements within the organizations involved. The vote took place at the NAACP Annual convention in Kansas City.
The NAACP President Ben Jealous call on the Tea Party “be responsible members of this democracy and make sure they don’t tolerate bigots or bigotry among their members.”
Tea Party Organizations around the country vehemently deny the groups is racist. The charges of racism was a result of false allegations that Tea Party participants gathered in Washington DC in May called members of the Congressional racial slurs and some on spat on Rep. Carson (D- MO).
The Resolution is a watered down version submitted by Kansas City NAACP branch. In that version resolution said:said the Tea Party movement has “displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically.”
Earlier a Tea Party group from Eastern Missouri produces a resolution condemning the NAACP for fostering racism against the Tea Party. Members of the St. Louis Tea Party blasted the NAACP From Fox News:
St. Louis Tea Party had an all-hands-on-deck response to the NAACP’s plan. The group has drafted a resolution of its own condemning the civil rights group for reducing itself to a “bigoted” and “partisan attack dog organization.”
The missive accused the NAACP of resorting to political tactics and urged the IRS to reconsider whether it can continue to qualify for tax-exempt status.
St. Louis Tea Party organizer Bill Hennessy wrote on the group’s website Tuesday that the Tea Party stands for smaller government and fiscal responsibility, and accused the NAACP of abandoning black America.
“When you look at the crime and poverty and family breakdown of the African-American community … you see a half-century of failure by the NAACP,” he wrote. “None of those persistent problems was caused by the Tea Party movement, yet the principles of the Tea Party are exactly what’s needed to wind down the multigenerational destruction in the African-American community.
“The NAACP was once a vital weapon in the war against segregation and oppression. All that’s left is a bigoted and malicious shell that does far more harm than good for people who need a break,” he wrote.
Fellow St. Louis Tea Party organizer Dana Loesch accused the NAACP of morphing into a political organization.
“They no longer prioritize civil rights,” she told Fox News.

Wow for the 10 to 20 years; young people in the Black community complained that the NAACP was out of touch and with my generation and my niece and nephew’s generation and the last two presidents suppose to bring the civil rights group out of 1950’s and 1960’s White Folks are out to get me mentality. Former President Ben Chavis and Current President Ben Jealous were to move away from that mindset. So far nothing’s changed.
With Tuesday resolution show the organization is still out of touch. What a shame. You can’t criticize President Obama without being called a racist. Meanwhile they no problem slamming former President George W. Bush and by calling him a racist for Hurricane Katrina. Despite the helpless and hapless former Mayor Ray”leave flooded buses behind” Nagin. At least Bush took responsibility by firing FEMA chief Michael Brown.
We are standing by the President Obama along with the goofs and morons in Congress to an economy that has not recovered but has crashed in to the sea. Thanks to his pathetic leadership skills Unemployment remains high 9.5% . In the black community it nearly 18%. My college nieces can’t find a job. My 16-year-old nephews would love a job. Thanks to the liberals and progressives that not going to happen.
Black folks give President Obama high mark for the job he’s doing. What?????? 18% unemployment and giving this man over 90% approval ratings. Why??? he’s our President despite he has lost support from all groups except us. We put race over common sense. The man is has made things worse. His incompetence is breathtaking! He has absolutely bereft of leadership skills. He refuses to place people with experience in business surrounding him.
Investors will not hire to due to government programs and expected tax increases. Obama is a typical Black Politician who does enough to get re-elected. The public see him as a Socialist for his controls of the Private sector.
When he was attorney in Chicago Barack Obama sued Citibank and other financial institutions to make more loans to people with bad credit to push home ownership. That success (HA-HA)led to the Clinton Administration and the subsequent Bush Administration push for more crazier and dangerous loans which collapse the housing industry. Meanwhile Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac need bailout after bailout while our leaders like Rep. Maxine Waters(D-CA). Waters along with Rep. Barney Frank(D-MA) denied when Republicans brought up that the were in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was in trouble. (Waters and members of the Congressional Black Caucus denied anything was wrong.)
Guess Who was hurt by this??? Huh???Crickets. Crickets. Crickets. Well Black folks. One again our leaders screw us again. My brother was in the industry and he told me a story of a black couple who wanted to buy a home he tried to help them by advising them to clean their credit before they tried to by a house. They refuse and left him. Who know if they bought a house or its in foreclosure.
Our community has become like lemmings falling off the cliff except one thing we ignore the warning signs that cliff (the US) collapse with us on it and we crashed into the sea. I was proud that we elected the first black president. But the bloom is off the rose. Race relations have disintegrated. With the President Calling the Cambridge, MA Police acted stupidly in the Prof. Henry Louis Gate lockout of his house affair. By the way I locked out my parents home and I was question by LA County Sheriffs Department Deputies without incident and I didn’t act belligerent to them.
I could go on but Why??? We like falling off the cliff. Obama’s our guy. Were screwed but he’s our guy. Well folks we get what we deserve. Thanks NAACP!!!!
