It’s been a bad 36 hours for First, Vice President Biden tells people gathered at a Fundraiser for Sen. Russ Feingold(D-WI) in Milwaukee on Saturday,”there’s no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession.”
The vice president said when took office in January 2009, the gross domestic product had fallen and hundred of thousands people out of work.”We inherited a godawful mess,” he said, adding there was “no way to regenerate $3 trillion that was lost. Not misplaced, lost.”
Biden tries to be optimistic in saying the economy is getting better and it grew for four quarters in a row at 4% and the gained 500,000 private industry jobs.
“We know that’s not enough,” the vice president said.
A week ago the Obama Administration touted that they save or created between 2.2 million and 2.8 million jobs as of March 2010. They are on track to save or create 3.5 million jobs.
