Early Saturday, rescue workers reached an area where four trapped miners located were found dead.
Rescue worker began a recover campaign to remove the last four bodies from the Upper Big Branch Mine. The Mine is owned by Massey Energy.
The mine exploded on Monday initially killing 24 and the other four were unaccounted for.
“We did not receive the miracle that we prayed for,” West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin said after meeting with relatives to deliver the news. “So this journey has ended and now the healing will start.”
President Obama is calling for a complete investigation in the mine disaster.”All Americans deserve to work in a place that is safe, and we must take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that all our miners are as safe as possible so that a disaster like this doesn’t happen again,” Obama said.
This bring number of miners killed to 29. This mine explosion disaster is biggest in US history in 40 years.
