Gangs wielding machetes loot stores in Port-au-Prince on Thursday. The looting took place in Port-au-Prince’s old commercial district an area filled with shops, markets and with few homes.
In this neighborhood, some building are burning, others collapsed bodies lay strewn on streets where they died. The scene look like a war zone.
The young men seen going through stores leaving with many supplies they can carry. Groups of Young men holding machetes marching down the street. Soon fights broke out between gangs. Machetes was wavering in the air.
Law enforcement was non-existent.
Haiti, the poorest country in the West; people were struggling to survive broke into stores for necessities to take back to where they camp out.
