Hellbent politicians including The Obama Administration Science Advisor Dr. John Holdren formerly of Harvard University and Jane Lubchenco a marine biologist and the head of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are standing by the research by the Climate Research Unit at University of East Anglia in Norwich, England,UK and Prof. Micheal Mann of Pennsylvania State University.
The two of several scientists testified in House sub-committee on Wednesday. House Republicans led by James Sensenbrenner Republican leader of the House sub-committee on Global Warming set the stage attacked the issue of global warming by bringing up the hacked e-mails one e-mail was written by John Holdren in 2003.
Sensenbrenner charges deceit by climate change scientists “These e-mails show a pattern of suppression, manipulation and secrecy that was inspired by ideology, condescension and profit,” said U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.
Holdren defended the scientific research says that the science is proper and the letters is a small fraction of research on the issue.
The e-mails do nothing to undermine the very strong scientific consensus … that tells us the earth is warming, that warming is largely a result of human activity,” said scientist Lubchenco.
Lubchencho says the e-mails do not include e-mails from NOAA and NASA which are independent of the data records of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit at the heart of the scandal.
Lubachenco performed a couple of scientific experiment to prove her point. In the first experiment she added liquid carbon dioxide to water to show the water became acidic to show carbon dioxide is polluting waters . She followed up with the second experiment by adding chalk to acidic water the water dissolved a little bit that this will happen to all sea life.
Congressman Sensenbrenner read another e-mail from Prof Jones about “trick of adding in the real temps” involving long range global warming temperatures. Holdren said trick did not mean manipulate but a “clever way” to tackle a problem. Another e-mail Jones said he wished climate change happening so the science was proved right.
US Representative Jay Inslee,(D-WA) defended the scientists by saying the e-mail aren’t stopping Arctic from melting, glaciers from melting and the oceans from getting acidic. Inslee asked sarcastically if Holdren and Lubchenco if they were part of a conspiracy.
Sensenbrenner chastised Holdren of mocking scientists critical of climate change.
