The Climate Change Treaty committee is delaying to 2010 or later. At the behest of President Barack Obama the world leaders agree push back the date from Mid-December meting in Copenhagen. European officials stress that the delay is weak.
Officials say it legal issues is bogging down the talks; but it is better to focus on Climate Change solutions.
“Given the time factor and the situation of individual countries we must, in the coming weeks, focus on what is possible and not let ourselves be distracted by what is not possible,” Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen told the leaders.
“The Copenhagen Agreement should finally mandate continued legal negotiations and set a deadline for their conclusion,” said the Copenhagen talks host, who flew into Singapore to lay out his proposal over breakfast at an Asia-Pacific summit.
Rasmussen says the talks will focus on reforms for industrialized nations and finding ways to help developing nations greenhouses gases. The Copenhagen meeting will lay the foundation for new rules.

Army Secretary is concerned that Thursday shooting by Major Nidal Hassan will paint all Muslim soldiers as unpatriotic because of their religious beliefs.
General George Casey warns not to cast aspersions Muslim soldier and officers that would “cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers.”
General Casey who appeared on three network news magazines including “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” asking for calm. Casey set out to remind the public the good of diversity.
“A diverse Army gives us strength,” General Casey, who visited Fort Hood Friday, said on “This Week.”
“The speculation could heighten the backlash,” he said on “This Week.” “What happened at Fort Hood is a tragedy and I believe it would be a greater tragedy if diversity became a casualty here.”
Senator Lindsy Graham on CBS News program “Face the Nation” Along with Senator Jack Reed of Senate Armed Services Committee pointed out Muslims have served with honor in the Army.
“At the end of the day this is not about his religion — the fact that this man was a Muslim,” Senator Graham said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
He added: “To those members of the United States military who are Muslims, thank you for protecting our nation, thank you for standing up against the people who are trying to hijack your religion.”
Senator Graham renews his support for Muslim soldiers and officers.
“I mean does every soldier who shows discontent with the war and every soldier that has had a bad performance report — what are we going to do with those folks?” Sen. Graham said. “At the end of the day, maybe this is just about him. It’s certainly not about his religion, Islam.”

One person is Dead and 5 others were injured when a gunman open fire on a engineering firm in Downtown Orlando Friday. The was caught after police discovered the killer at his mothers home across town.
The shooting took place at 16 story Legion Place office tower. Occupants who work at the office building evacuated the building. Police originally thought that the gunman Identified as Jason Rodriguez 40, of Orlando; was still in the building. Orlando Police discovered that Rodriguez has fled the scene. An all point bulletin was set for Rodriguez. Hours later he was spotted at his mother’s home in Orlando.
Orlando Police Chief Val Demings said he was found at his mothers home. Police spotted him in the front window of the home and Ordered Rodriguez out of the home.
Rodriguez was fired from the engineering firm two years ago. He was also going through a divorce and owed thousand of dollars in debt. He worked at a pizza joint as driver making a fraction of his architect salary.

On Friday, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation closed Oak Park,Ill based FBOP Corporation. FBOP had nine regional banks in California, Arizona,Texas and Illinois. The closure of FBOP was the fourth largest bank to fail to this year.
Minneapolis based US Bancorp acquired FPOB subsidiaries:
California National Bank with 68 branches based in Los Angeles.
Pacific National Bank with 17 branches based in San Francisco.
Park National Bank with 30 branches based in Chicago.
San Diego National Bank with 28 branches based in San Diego.
FBOP own some smaller banks in Texas and Arizona with one or two branches including: Bank USA based in Phoenix,AZ; Citizens National Bank of Teague, TX; Madisonville State Bank , Madisonville, TX, North Houston Bank based in Houston,TX; and Community Bank of Lemont, Lemont,Ill.
These banks re-opened as branches of US Bank on Saturday.

Police and Firefighter in Chicago are wondering are the going to be next on the chopping block as Mayor Richard M. Daley is considering placing the city’s first responders on furloughs.
A representative of the Mayor’s office says the budget office is negotiations with fire and police unions to accept offer.
It will the first time in the city’s history that fire and police is will not able to work.
Some the member of the Chicago City Council was not please with budget office place the first responders on furlough.

One of the more controversial pieces of Mayor Daley’s 2010 budget is the requirement for all city workers to take 24 unpaid furlough days.
The only city workers who have been spared from what amounts to an entire month off without pay are the city’s police and firefighters. But that could change.
A representative for the city budget office says the city is in negotiations with police and fire unions to accept furlough days.
It would mark the first time in Chicago that police and firefighters were forced to go without work.

The idea has caught the attention of more than a few city aldermen.
“I’m getting calls from residents in my ward who work for the city and can’t pay their mortgage,” Alderman Ray Suarez said. “Why can’t police and fire also join in on the furlough days?”
“We have stayed away from police and fire all of these years,” Alderman Ed Smith said. “But we are in a position now where, I believe, that everybody should put in some skin in this game.”
What effect on the safety and security of residents of Chicago remains to be seen.
Chicago is joining other localities in furlough government employees Milwaukee, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Los Angeles are furloughing employees.

The US government once said two consecutive quarters of economic growth ended a recession. A new report found that we’re half way there. The report from the US Commerce Department found economic output grew 3.5% for the third quarter. The third quarter that runs form July to September found the nation strongest growth in two years. The report beat expectation which forecast the US economy to grow by 3.3 %.
The White House attributed the gains to the stimulus brought out the nation national slump. The worst recession since 1945.
The news sent the stock market soaring on the news. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closes 199.89 points at 9,962.58. NASDAQ closed up 37.94 to 2,097.55. The S&P Index was unchanged.
“The economy has emerged with gusto from the deepest recession since World War Two,” said Harm Bandholz, economist at UniCredit Markets and Investment Banking in New York. “The short-term prospects for the economy remain good.”
However some economists say that without the Federal Governments Cash for Clunkers car program economic growth would be 1.9% growth.

USA Today is losing circulation. The latest figures show that the paper is down 17% in circulation from Editor and Publisher. The loss would be the largest in USA Today history. The paper is hit twice as hard with decline in readership in at hotel and airports; travel is down since the recession.
The daily circulation is down to 1.8 million, a drop of 400,000 fewer copies down from208.
Audit Bureau of Circulation will provide figure for this quarter in Oct.26.

Ten soldiers were killed in two separate attack in Eastern Afghanistan. The most recent attack eight soldiers died when Taliban rebels launch an assault against the NATO / US alliance. Days earlier Afghani Police officer who was training with the US turned against them by killing two American soldiers and injuring three.
It is not clear if policeman worked for the Taliban or just went rogue.
Last week, General Stanley Mc Chrystal the US general leading the campaign in Afghanistan has ask for additional troops after several attack saying Were in danger of losing in Afghanistan. And he met President Obama only twice first in April and then this past Friday(October 2) evening for only 30 minutes when Obama was winging has way back to DC after making a pitch a for the 2016 Olympics in Chicago.
President Obama said this is a way worth fighting for. But the numbers of soliders dying now over 400 and climbing with growing calls to end the war Obama need to make a decision soon on Gen. Mc Chrystal’s troop request face some dire consequences.
