Breaking News:House Passes 2nd Health Care Reform Bill 220-215

Late Saturday House of Representatives voted 220-215. Only one Republican voted for the newest bill  H.R. 3962 The Affordable Health Care for America Act.  The 2nd in a series of bills in the House and Senate to bring health care to all Americans. 39 Democrats join the Republicans opposing the bill. The bill penalties in stiff fines which  must be paid or face imprisonment example:

Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]

A jubilant Speaker Nancy Pelosi was greatful for the victor used the  gavel to signal the win “The bill is passed”

“It provides coverage for 96percent of American. It offer everyone, regardless of health or income, the peace of mind that comes from knowing that will access to affordable health care when they need it,” said Rep. John Dingell, the 83 year old Michigan lawmaker who introduced national health insurance in every Congress since succeeding his father in 1995.

Republican who opposed the bill due to its cost over $2 trillion over the next ten years; covers illegal immigrants, abortions.

“We are going to have a complete government takeover of our health care system faster than you can say, “This is making me sick,”  jabbed Rep.  Candice Miller(R-MI) adding that Democrats were intent on passing ” a jobs-killing, tax-hiking deficit-exploding” bill.

Republican  placed an alternative bill that wouldn’t raise taxes, create high risk pool and did not place penalties if a person does not buys their own  or employer does not provided. It went down in defeat  of 258-176.

It  went down on a party line  vote.

Attack on a Los Angeles Synagogue Injured Two Men

Two men were injured today by an gunman during morning prayers at syanagogue in North Hollywood a section of Los Angeles in the city’s San Fernando Valley. The incident placed Southern California Jewish institutions on alert.

A motive was not  given by Los Angeles Police Department.  It is believed the the attack was by a lone shooter.

“We certainly recognize the location and we’re sensitive to that,” Deputy Police Chief Michel Moore said. “But we do not know that this was a hate crime at all.”

The two men in their 40’s  are members of Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Orthodox synagogue. The men were shot both in the legs.  The men had just arrived around 6:30 A.M. for morning prayers when the attack occurred.

The two men are in stable condition in a LA area hospital. They are expected fully recover soon.

The police described the alleged assailant as black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt. LAPD was had detained a person who filled the description he was released later.

The FBI joined in the search.

“We are being vigilant for any follow-ups that may occur,” Moore said.

The police  is being investigated as a hate crime.  However, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa cautioned the public from overreacting.

“Until they have concluded their investigation, none of us, none of us should presume or speculate more about this crime other than it was a random act of violence,” Villaraigosa said.

A student of the  synagogue school 13 year old  Shayan Yaghoubi, was heading to school when he and his parent was turned away for their safety.

“The cops told us we can’t go,” he said. “I feel very bad because this is my favorite school … I have a lot of friends over there. I hope everyone is OK. There’s never been a problem with fighting.”

A local resident Micheal Bloom 30, says the area has a history of Antisemitism.

“This has been going on for years. Everything from “death to Israel” to “dirty Jew,’” he said. “There are gangs in the area. It’s not the safest neighborhood.”

But Sholomo Yaghobi, 18 says the neighborhood is “calm, relatively.”

His brother who attends the schools is concerned.

“I’m upset if something would have happened to my brother, who would answer to that?” he said.

A spokesperson from the Simon Wiesenthal Center a Jewish Civil Rights  organization told FOX 11 News.

“When an attack actually takes place in the perimeter of a house of worship, it’s a source of deep concern,” Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center told KTTV. “Look, we don’t know whether this is a lone gunman, it could be drugs, who knows. But the fact of the matter is there were no words exchanged, violence was used.”

Rabi Cooper analyzed timing of the attack.

“If it’s someone who had been watching the community they would know that every weekday morning somewhere between 10 and 25 or 30 men are going to be coming to the early morning service.”

This comes 10 years from the attack on the Jewish Community Center by White Supremacist Bufford Furrow in Northridge section of LA.  Furrow shot and wounded 3 kids, a teen and adult.  Furrow then proceeded to kill a Filipino Mail Man.  He is serving life in prison with out the possibility of parole.

Louisana Judge Denies Interracial Couple Marriage Licence

Here’s a story that sound like it belong in the 1970’s and earlier not 2009. A justice of the peace in Hammond Louisiana in Suburban New Orleans has denied a interracial couple a martial licence  out of concern for the children.

Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell of Tangipahoa Parrish says from his experience with interracial couples that the marriage don’t survive. Neither Justice Bardwell nor the couple in questions returned calls from the AP.

But Bardwell told the local paper in Hammond the Daily Star he was not a racist. He has in the past married blacks in his home.

“I do ceremonies for black couples right here in my house,” Bardwell said. “My main concern is for the children.”

Bardwell have talked to both blacks and whites have conduced that black community and saw  interracial black society has accepted children of these relationships and neither does white society .

“I don’t do interracial marriages because I don’t want to put children in a situation they didn’t bring on themselves,” Bardwell said. “In my heart, I feel the children will later suffer.”

The couple 30 year old Beth  Humphrey and her fiancee 32 year old Terrance Mc Kay both of Hammond, are considering filing a complaint with US Justice Department. Humphrey has told the Daily Star that she contacted Bardwell on October 6 about obtaining a marriage license. When the justice of the peace refused to grant the marriage.

The ACLU of Louisana has commented on the case.

“It is really astonishing and disappointing to see this come up in 2009,” said American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana attorney Katie Schwartzman. “The Supreme Court ruled as far back as 1963 that the government cannot tell people who they can and cannot marry.”

The ACLU will ask the Louisana Supreme Court to investigate Bardwell and remove him from office if necessary.

NBA Star and Talk Show host John Salley Wonders Does White People Hate President Obama

NBA star, talk show host John Salley wonders if all of America white community has it out for President Barack Obama. Salley was on Adams Carolla’s radio program earlier last week when he asked Carolla does he hate Obama. Carolla said,”No”. Then he asked after 266 days after being election Why the hate Obama. Carolla said “Who” Salley said, “All the White People.”

This comes on the heels of statement by Former presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, former Vice President Walter Mondale, Governor Patterson of New York State and others.

I wrote over a year ago that American will be call racist  if they don’t agree with the President-elect. I was right. Politicians, celebrities,  are saying people who opposed the president is Racists.  My community the black community are using specious arguments against those who criticism from outside the black community.

Playing the race care is a canard. President Obama policies is the problem, Owning car companies Chrysler and General Motors, The stimulus package that promised keep unemployment in check at 8 plus percent. It now at a breath taking record breaking 9.7% nearly 3 million people out of work. Promise that the program would create job but there no proof.( In fact the President use the ambiguous phrase of save or created a million jobs there is no proof of such.) Promise of putting the stimulus on the White House before he sign the bill into law.

Next up the omnibus spending bill which cause billions more. Cap and Trade which causes American energy bills to soar by $1765 for every man, woman and child in the country.  The president quadruple the  national debit in 2009. Then there HR 3200 and it’s sister bill in the US Senate (which has not been voted on) which takes over the Health Care  industry.

Obama did the politically expendable thing and move to the center  after winning the nomination. Most people except conservatives know what policies would be. Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck  along with radio talk show host Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham  an others know about The president’s past and his left wing tendencies. The so-called “Main Stream Media” did not do long exposes` on Obama’s politics and his up-bringing like they did with George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and other candidates and nominees in past election cycles. The Media gave Obama a free pass. Many people did not know of Obama predilections until after the election. Now people who gave the president the benefit of the doubt don’t like the direction Obama is taking the country.

I could blame all of the white people that I have known of the last 37 years of my life from first grade teacher in St Lucy Elementary School to the church I attended Orange Avenue Baptist Church and my friends, schoolmates and co-workers From JC Penney to today for all my failings. But I can’t. Why you asked because It is my fault. I let fear  and anxiety to dominate me and control my mind and my life. I am trying to break it. Its not easy.  But its something I need to do.

I got news for the Black community you and President you NEED white folks. White folks vote regularly compared to Black, Latino and Asians. White folks provide the finances for election campaigns. There more white that there are black and other minorities and the can decide the will vote against you.

I’ve got a secret for you Black community not ever body is going to like you. Read the Bible the Pharisees and Sadducee in the in Sanhedrin did like  Jesus when he taught and healed and befriended people who they thought Jesus should not do.

By the way, President Obama got it  in a recent interview he stated that opposition to his policies and the direction the nation is going not the color of his skin.  Sadly, many in the Black community don’t get like the President. That’s a crying shame.

Good Time Charlie Rangel Cries Racism, It’s Time to Say Goodbye,Charlie

This is a broken record. For the third week in the row an African-American Pol has cried racism to their peril. Charlie Rangel, The Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee has used the race card at a health care in his district in New York.  Rangel says it race that’s behind the opposition to President Obama health care program.

“Some Americans have not gotten over the fact that Obama is President of the United States. They go to sleep wondering, ‘how did this happen?’” said Rangel.

Rangel see the fight over health care similar to the civil rights movement.

“Why do black people have to bargain for what is theirs? Why do we have to wait for the right to vote? Why can’t we get what God has given us? And that is the right to live as human beings and not negotiate with white southerners and not court the votes. Just do the right thing,” Rangel said.

This comes on the heels of the revelations   the Congressman misreported his income  via  amended tax  forms. This has lead to the Washington Post  calling for his resignation. The Washington Post says: “Much is expected of elected officials. Much more is expected and demanded of those entrusted with chairmanships and the power that comes with them, especially when it involves the nation’s purse strings. From all that we’ve seen thus far, Mr. Rangel has violated that trust continually and seemingly without care.”

Some of his constituents thinks its time for Rangel to go.  Jacob Israel of Harlem  agrees,  “He’s not the only one. They’re all stealing. It’s just that they want to get him out because he has too much influence. He’s been there too long. Every last one of them is stealing.”

Another resident, Jerry Watson  adds, “He should step aside because who knows what else he’s doing that we don’t know about.

Meanwhile , local politicians are speaking out. New York  City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is waiting for the facts to come out. “Charlie has been very helpful to this city in terms of doing things that we’ve asked him to do, bringing home the bacon if you will and I hope that he’s done nothing wrong,” Bloomberg said.

Mayorial candidate and City Councilman Tony Avella said in a statement.”It was also mar his effectiveness in representing Harlem in Congress. He should not stand for re-election.”

Is this what we got look forward for next three years essentially “White folks are out to get us ” instead of say our opponents are wrong. Or in Charlie instances because  failing to report income to the IRS .  I mean he writes tax policies and he does not follow the rules. Basically, do as  I say  not as I do . Charlie  take  your self down to the Dominican Republic and don’t come back Or look forward to a different home in Sing Sing Prison in Upstate New York.

Rep. Dianne Watson Holds up Cuba Medical Care as Role Model While Playing the Race Card.

I got to tell you as a black man it sickens me about our politicians (my congresswoman is Loretta Sanchez that doesn’t say much) But I cant stand politician who plays the race card. Representative Diane Watson at a town hall goes on a rant saying “They are spreading fear and they’re trying to see that the first president who looks like me — fails.”

This was caught on tape by KABC-AM 790 reporter Micheal Linder who was the only reporter there. Linder broke the story on KABC’S John Phillips Show.

Whenever something go wrong to us we play the race card, Just last week Governor David Patterson(D-New York) blamed a racist media trying push  him out of the Governors Race in 2010 and they are after fellow Governor Deval Patrick and President Barack Obama as well.

These calls once again makes our community look thin skinned people, looking for klan members every where we go. And that white folks are out to get me.  I could blame my problems on my white friends and acquaintances instead I blamed myself for screwing up my self esteem ( tried to get to tv news years ago each time I review the tape I cringe. I did not try again to practice to make the tape I let fear rob me of life and success. )

Look there is racism overt and covert I experience the overt ( I may have experienced the covert I don’t know) But I do know We can’t keep crying racism.  People are tired it and it going to be a very very long  3 1/4 years left of this government and resentment is growing tremendously.  Lets give it  a rest before it’s too late.

And By the way Congresswoman Watson is Clueless. Earlier on this blog  via Gateway Pundit pointed out that Cuba’s vaunted health care  only works on paper especially if you are tourist or high up in the communist party in Cuba. Pictures of Cubas hospital and clincs is abysmal, decaying and in sufficient to help the public.  There are shortages everywhere.

Confidentially, King-Harbor Urgent Care ( Formerly King Drew Medical Center) is the laughing stock of the LA County Health Department. Incompetence, tartness, absenteeism, employee physical fights, employee stealing from the hospital dispensary,  patients dying do to poor medical skills hence the nick name “Killer King . All this  while Watson was in the state assembly and the state senate and many black politician defend the hospital  because the serve the poor in Watts and South Los Angeles it was downgraded in2007 to a urgent care from a hospital after it lost federal and state accreditation. Desipite the poor deserve better.

Not a sterling endorsement. Rep. Watson. The South LA, Compton,Long Beach area deserves better than you.

NY Governor Plays Race Card Blames “White Media” for woes

New York Governor David Patterson lashes out at media blaming them for his woes and accuses the of pushing him out 2010 Governor’s Race.

“The whole idea is to get me not to run in the primary,” Paterson told New York Daily News report and radio talk show host Errol Lewis. Patterson says Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and President Barack Obama are also coming under fire because they are black.

“We’re not in the post-racial period,” Paterson said.

“The reality is the next victim on the list – and you can see it coming – is President Barack Obama, who did nothing more than trying to reform a health care system.”

Reaction from blacks political leaders are mixed.

“He’s given the media more than enough to feed on with the incompetence shown in his administration,” said state Senator Ken Parker(D-Brooklyn)who is black.

“To quote Michael Jackson, he should start with the man in the mirror,” Parker said.

A ally of Governor  Patterson is State Senator Bill Perkins (D-Harlem) says his friend should stay focus on governing and Stay”focused on the message.”

Patterson’s poll numbers are very low. The absolute lowest was 18%  but it has risen to 30%  and Pollsters say Patterson could loose a match up between him and  Attorney Genera Andrew Cuomo.

Later Governor Patterson played of his earlier comments, by saying

“At no point did I claim that this media piling-on effect was due to race.”

“What I did point out was that certain media outlets have engaged in coverage that exploits racial stereotypes,” he said.

Look incompetence is no excuse to cry racism.  Governor Patterson you sir have poor leadership skills. There is true racism,this isn’t it. Governor Patterson, you have trivialized the word. Black politicians today throw down the race card if things don’t go his or her way. If  the media, District Attorney or Attorney General investigate and again play the race card.

The problem is these people couldn’t handle the pressure of the post; or they  are head deep in corruption. It’s safer to run  in all black(or Hispanic for that matter) election districts where the is little opposition. If there is opposition the opponent doesn’t have the financial wherewithal to win.

Mean while,The State Legislature in Albany, is a disgrace. The people of New York need a constitutional Amendment move the legislature like what us happening in California. A group Citizens for California Reform to moving  state assembly and state senate from full to part time status. Since they are unresponsive to the people. I suggest that the Voters of New York state do the same for the your state.

Socalist is the the new N word

Recently, Carlos Watson an anchor at MSNBC  associated  Socialism as the new N word Watson pointed out that socialism is a type of a government system. But he blamed talk radio and so called birthers using a very broad brush.  This tactic was the used  years ago under President Reagan  with word welfare. However, He used the phrase welfare queen was code for Blacks; which was a horrible mistake.

Recently, the word Urban was considered dirty because urban was  considered code black and Hispanic. The word  now acceptable for developers and real estate marketers to lure to Downtown areas in places like Chicago,Denver, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Even, some young conservatives( even some older divorcee to get back into the dating game) who are not married who want night life excitement and culture move there.(Until they have families and then its off to the suburbs when the kids enter elementary school age.)

Look any word can be misconstrued  to be racist.  Being black myself, I have experience racism both overt and covert. Being called a N as a child and adult. Feeling like I am being watched when I would go window shopping at Macy’s at main Place Mall in Santa Ana, CA in the late 1980′ and early 1990’s.

Socialism is a political ideology and government system.   Historically, some blacks choose some of the most  radical ideologies  including Barack Obama learning at  the knee of Frank Davis, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayres, the  words of Saul Alinsky beacause they feel disenfranchised. Many whites, also did so too.

Look there more important thing than claiming the word socialist is a the new N word.  It makes the black community look whiny. Look if every thing bad had happens to me in my life I could blame Whitey, my life couldn’t change. The black community have bigger fish to fry including double digit unemployment, loosing homes that we should not be able to live in thanks to the housing crisis.  The number of males in jails etc.

Last week  some complained about the picture of the President to look like the joker from the last Batman movie and called it racist. Apparently it was OK when President George W. Bush was done up in Vanity Fair last year or two as the joker. We’re looking  vain and petty. If we cant stand the heat. Then we don’t belong in the kitchen.

We in the black community need to grow up and deal with the real racism and not let perceptions or opposition to the president goals be considered racist then we should not be in public office.

The White House Public War on the American People

Remember the Attack on Joe the Plumber last fall that took the nation by surprise by the media and Democratic pols. It was shameful and disgraceful attack on the man a private citizen. But now, now President Barack Obama, the Democratic Party and presidential stenographers (a/k/a know as the mainstream media)  has done it again. However, this time it has been exploded exponentially attacking TEA party demonstrators call them the angry mob.

Democrats who was once the party of the working class has now treated the protesters with disdain.

While I acknowledge that many of the citizens were angry about the possibility of being placed on a Government health care scheme. The people are asking their leaders questions about the program  and the politicians are don’t have the  answers or  quote the  (rhetorical) talking points.  We need to be more calmer to be sure.

However, calling the protests manufactured. Are you kidding me???? The President who cut his political teeth in ACORN and became its top trainer in Chicago in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

ACORN and SEIU who wear t-shirts with their logo emblazoned on them and professional signs are real protesters while the average Joe (like Samuel Wurtzelbacher “Joe the Plumber”) so to speak protest wearing work clothes or business suits is called manufactured outrage.   That’s like  the pot calling the kettle black ( and Yes I said it, I am black!) . George Orwell call your office, Please.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has demagogue the issues involving the health care debate has call the demonstrators Astroturf and has accused protesters of “carrying swastikas, and symbols like that to a town hall meeting on health care.” Show us the proof Nancy,show us the proof.

Meanwhile the President has asked the American people to rat out the critics of the Health care reform. Here the statement:

“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

Just think the White House has asked the American  people to snitch on the fellow citizens who disapprove health care reform; something the liberals would accuse the  Republicans employing witch hunts tactics(Remember Senator Joseph McCarthy(R-WI)  in the 1950’s against communists).

Now, now this administration has stooped to a new low that asking citizens to tell on their neighbors. Barack Obama  makes Richard Milhous Nixon  seem like a church choirboy. (It was only after leaving the White House the reporters learned about Nixon’s ‘Enemies List’) Obama is  doesn’t have a hidden enemies list.  He put his cards on table for the world to see; to our national shame.

The Democrats taking out a ad accusing Health Care  and TEA party protesters of mob rule in this video called “Enough of the Mob”.

I wonder who is this Administration’s J. Edgar Hoover who himself  had files on famous people and  controversial groups during  cold war and civil rights eras in America. I would never imagined the United States going this way. And to think they accused George Walker Bush of this; what a bunch of b.s.

Barack Obama is a Quadrillion times worse.  I, as a black man; had high hopes for him. (My contentious  is clear ; I didn’t vote for him.)  My God, I  was wrong.  We are all  Joe the plumbers now.

Remember,  the Democrats call dissent patriotic during Bush 43 Administration accusing Republican of calling liberals and Democrats as unpatriotic which is largely untrue; The funny thing is when they are in charge they don’t want you to dissent and call unpatriotic.

Latino Immigrants Hard Hit in California’s Inland Empire

Latino are the hardest hit minority in California’s Inland Empire. Many immigrants both Legal and Illegal are experience double digit unemployment rates.  Meet Ruben Granados of Riverside. Originally from Mexico, Granados was living in the San Jose,CA suburb of Watsonville.  He learned of a job opportunity in Riverside County. He left the Bay for Riverside, for a job as  an electrician. That lasted until  2008 when Granados was laid off when the housing market crashed.

“There was tons of work — new apartments, new construction,” said Granados, 25, a U.S. citizen. “Everybody wanted to come to this part of California.”

But now Granados is standing out side of a Home Depot next the Riverside Fwy (Hwy 91) hoping to be hired.

“I’ll do anything to bring food to my table,” he said. “Here, I get at least a chance of getting a job.”

Employment researchers  have found the Latinos have surpassed Blacks  in levels of unemployment in the Inland Empire in data released by the Economic Policy Institute based in Washington,D.C.

Making problems worse, lack of education, language barrier and computer skills have contributed to the difficulty in finding work, said  Sylvia Spigner of Workforce Development Center of Riverside County.

Granados have applied to  temporary agencies,restaurants  and fast-food places like Jack in the Box where  a manager told him a he had pile of applications as big as thick phone book. Grandos  is thinking of leaving the American dream for good. His father did  after living in the US for 30 years to return to Mexico. He just falling in his father footsteps.

Others  are going to tough it out. Pedro Perez also from Riverside. He moved from Cudhay in LA County to Riverside also in 2004 and everything was coming up roses  until 2007 when he was laid off his construction job. Perez who is illegal , struggle to make rent, and buys food from a neighborhood market on credit.

“There isn’t any,” he said. “It all ended.” Nevertheless, Paz said, he will keep trying.
