Muni Rail accident in San Francisco

From ABC7 News: Two San Francisco Municipal Railway trains collided in at the West Portal station in Southwest San Francisco, Saturday injuring 47people. Four people were critical condition including the Muni driver. The second train rear-ended the first train. The victims were taken to three hospitals including San Francisco General Hospital.

Most of the injuries were minor some went home after  short stay. One victim 16 year old Jonathon Wei of San Francisco describes the scene

“People were screaming in Chinese, “It hurt so much. It hurt so much.” And, people were hella shocked, like what happened?” he said.

What has happened that the L line (Taraval Street)train rear-ended the K-Line(Ingleside Ave). The K-Line train was stopped when it was rammed by the Taraval Street train.

“I saw people flying and stuff. I hit my head on the transfer thing right there,” said Wei.

“None of the injuries in today’s collision were described as life-threatening by the fire department at the scene. That could change, but the initial indication was no-life threatening injuries,” Explained  Judson True spokesperson of Muni.

Investigators say the causes for the train crash will be found soon.

Alert:US Solider in Afghanistan Captured by Taliban

News Alert: An American solider was missing in Afghanistan June 30th has been captured by the Taliban. The solider is identified by Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl of Ketchum, ID.  In a video produced by the Taliban; Pfc Bergdahl saying, “He’s scared I won’t be able to go home.” “It is very unnerving to be a prisoner”

In the video, Bergdahl wore a gray outfit,he held up dog tags which showed is name and id number in the 28 minute video. He said that he was captured after lagging behind his unit. He misses his family and his girlfriend.

“To my fellow Americans who have loved ones over here,who know what it’s like to miss them you have the power to make our government bring them home,” He said. “Please,please bring us home so that we can be where we belong and not over here, wasting our time and our lives and our precious life that we could be using back in our own country. Please bring us home. It is  America and American people who have that power.”

A US military spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker based in Afghanistan used our solider a propaganda tool.

“I’m  gland to see he appears unharmed, but again, this is a Taliban propaganda video,” She said. “They are exploiting the soldier in violation of international law.”

The military solider went missing on July 2nd after walking off base three Afghan soldiers captured him in Eastern Afghanistan.

The Taliban has not set conditions for his release.
