CBS News has extensive coverage of the life and career of Walter Cronkite.
Walter Cronkite was the Platinum Standard in Television News. In a era where there was little bells that we come to expect. He was a straight shooter no nonsense man that is missing today. Anyone under 35 years old would not know who Cronkite was. He was your uncle telling stories of the day, providing information, making you think on the events that shape two generations. Today anchors are vapid, not versatile in experience; prompter readers. Very few enterprise their own stories. And with a myriad of networks CBS, ABC and NBC have lost viewers since Cronkite retirement. News has become partisan, I mean Hyper-partisan;.and unrecognizable broadcast journalism industry to him and his generation of newsmen and newswomen that came before.
Farewell Mr. Cronkite, thank you presenting the news the way it was for 50 years.
